Hello! Had my first day of school today. Im so glad Adele and I got into VJC!! ANYWAY, today i had planned to meet Adele in the canteen at 7.15! But i ended reaching early at 7 so I asked my mom to drop me outside school so I could take my time to slowly walk in. I was walking around like some lost puppy cos I was alone then i saw someone that looked like Jordan so i ran up to him (it was not Jordan sigh). But then i saw Glenn Ji Cheng and Eric!! Thank goodness. All the TK people came one by one and we all sat together in the morning. There's like 30 of us and a lot are from 2G/4B!! As I looked around the canteen I realised most of the students were VS boys and CHIJ girls.

We got settled into our groups after that. Im in Fyros 3!! The theme of orientation is Arcane 2014 which supposedly stands for the mysterious unknown. Lol i thought the OG names were names of diseases hahaha cos there were groups like Viridius and Izenheim. Sounds like a disease right?? At first it was hard to make friends cos my group is really quiet + the hall was super noisy + i was just assigned to the group so they all knew one another. Then we had this really boring talk on subject combinations and scholarships. It was like 3 hours long wtf i was dying. Cos the scholarships were mostly science scholarships you need A1 for 2 maths and 2 sciences or something like that. I didnt qualify so i really didnt give a shit about that talk. The first friend i made was a Cedar girl! Her name is Yi En. Shes pretty quiet though. We also went to the hall to ask about the various subjects offered. Ive decided on Hybrid stream - Geog Chem Maths Econs (BUT I CANT SUBMIT MY CHOICES DUE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC. hence the blogging) I met a few other girls from my OG - Jamie, Hanny and Ying Liao (hahaha isnt that drink in chinese ok nvm luckily you didnt say that to her face)

I was so worried I couldnt make friends at first lol my group looked so nerdy and quiet on first impression (sorry Fyros 3 i love you guys) plus at first our OGLs were supposed to have ice breakers with us and play games. I love my two OGLs but at the start the two of them couldnt be heard and werent super enthusiastic about games like all the other OGLs. I almost wanted to takeover and lead orientation for my group wtf cos everyone was just so quiet and heavily lacked enthusiasm. We played Whacko at one point and I really struggled with remembering names cos there were only 5 people in my group with english names. And the chinese names were so hard to pronounce. Like theres a Hor Onn and a You Ren.

Then we had mass dance! The first dance is super cute haha its called Whiney Whiney and the moves are so easy and fun to do. Theres this move where you go to the right and shout WHOOO then left as well. I was all hyped up then the second dance ah... damn hard wtf! I had no idea what was going on so I just waved my hands and jumped the whole time. And it was so hot and tiring and so much jumping and i was so thirsty. So yeah wasnt as enthusiastic about the second dance. Lastly, we learnt the VJC cheers!! The cheers are super fast and energetic and they have moves and a drum playing as well. I was super hyped up during the cheers (:

We also watched this "fashion show" which was the different ccas and OG mascots parading down a catwalk. I was so so so impressed it is such a unique way to present and introduce the ccas!! Way more interesting than a simple dull powerpoint presentation. Wah they put in so much effort into the orientation planning! Theres even a story behind the 6 OGs haha theres this dark lord who returned (sounds like voldermort) and the 6 warriors represented different elements (fyros is fire!!) It was damn cool when the OGLs walked in with their costumes it was like.. You know in one part of Harry Potter there was a girl and guy school that came to Hogwarts for a competition? When the schools walked in with their music and everything. YEAH IT WAS LIKE THAT. I CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW COOL IT WAS.

Yay im so happy to be in VJ and excited for whats install for me. I know I'll have to work really hard cos a lot of people in my cohort are 6 pointers and there are soooooooooooooo many china scholars. (my OGL has 16 people like 6 of them are china scholars) I dont want to lag behind everyone :( It feels like im entering the bottom of the foodchain here in VJ. I miss my TK friends as well. Its hard finding people that have a similar personality as me. I want to find people who are enthusiastic, make lame jokes, not afraid of speaking out, take initiative, arent too nerdy, people who have common interests as me. People that I can be myself with. Yes i am describing my TK friends meh i miss you guys :'(
